Williamsons Moving On

As most of you already know, Pastor Brad and Jill will be leaving Burbank Faith at the end of January. They have accepted a position with John Day Church of the Nazarene in Oregon.

Take the time by card or even by the message board on this website to relay your thoughts to this special family.

Welcome

to “Burbank Faith,” one of Los Angeles great churches where our doors are wide open to people from all backgrounds.

Our size has benefits: we’re big enough to always have a seat waiting for you and small enough to let you feel you're part of a community church.

Together, we’re working hard to become the kind of church described in the Bible—a church with relevant teaching, heart-felt worship, honest friendships, constant prayer, and compassionate care for those in need.

Basically we’d like to have the kind of contagious Christianity that can influence and encourage the entire community, one life at a time.

So whether you’re a spiritual seeker who’s just starting to ask questions about God, or a committed Christian who wants to sink the roots of your faith even deeper, you can find a home here at Burbank Faith.

Letters to the Pastor:

"Hi Pastor Joe,

The trip across the country took me 6 days and my family was pleasantly surprised.  I stopped to see so much, London Bridge in Lake Havasu, AZ, Grand Canyon, Four Corners, Ft. Sumner (I almost missed thank goodness for billboards), Cadillac Ranch in TX, Precious Moments Chapel in MO and various roadside attractions along Rt. 66.  I think you would really enjoy a trip like that and I hope you get the chance.  Route 66 winds through small towns that reminded me of Shelbyville.  When I got to St. Louis and saw the arch I breathed a sigh of relief cause I knew I was almost home.

The weather was pretty decent and even the one night I spent in my car when it was 44 degrees I stayed warm.  Thank you and thank the rest of my family for me as well for their prayers.  There was one day Friday, Nov. 30 I called a God day because I really didn't know where I was going.  It was around Tulsa and there was a sight I really wanted to see, but I had no idea how to get there or where to exit the freeway.  One exit sign sounded familiar and I didn't know why, so I decided to take it and it was the right one.

After two Sundays at Shelbyville's Nazarene church I was ready to leave just because I miss the Burbank worship.  Then, the young adult Sunday school class called and invited me to join them for their Christmas party and I went to bible study last night (I miss the deep discussions we had a bible study), but the message was exactly what I needed to hear.  Read your bible, which is where I struggle.  I have a saying, it's the hardest book to pick up and the hardest book to put down.

God Bless,

Tonya Askins
